Mike Martin

For over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of inspiring and educating more than 107,000 students, professionals, and seniors through immersive living history presentations. By integrating these experiences into high school curriculums, I help bridge the lessons of the past with today’s challenges, offering valuable insights into resilience, leadership, and change.

My journey has been shaped by a life of service, travel, and connection. As a military brat, I grew up across the U.S., France, and Morocco, developing a global perspective early on. My own service as a U.S. Navy Supply Corps Officer—including a tour in Vietnam—gave me the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the Pacific, gaining firsthand experience in logistics, leadership, and international operations.

After transitioning from military service, I built a successful career in corporate sales, consistently ranking among the top performers and earning industry accolades, including all-expenses-paid incentive trips to destinations like Mexico and Hawaii. Today, as a business consultant and sales coach, I use my experience to help emerging companies refine their strategies, optimize their sales processes, and achieve long-term growth.

Beyond business, I am deeply passionate about holistic health and wellness. As a member of the Holistic Chamber of Commerce (Houston Memorial Chapter), I advocate for natural healing solutions, including a line of fast-acting topical analgesic creams and lotions—products designed to enhance well-being and improve lives.

I am also a dedicated advocate for the veteran community. I actively support organizations such as the Houston Veterans Chamber of Commerce, VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. As Director of the Speakers Bureau for the Vietnam Veterans of Diablo Valley, I work to preserve and share veterans' stories, ensuring their voices are heard. Additionally, as a Pathfinder for the Houston Veterans Chamber of Commerce, I help connect veterans and businesses in the western Houston metro area with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Mike Martin is also an collaborator author, sharing his experiences and insights through his books: It Don’t Mean Nothin’ Man: We Are Back in the World Now, a firsthand account of the Vietnam War and its lasting impact, and Business Secrets from the Battlefield to the Boardroom, where he translates military lessons into powerful business strategies.

Today, I live in West Houston, close to my son and four grandchildren, while remaining connected with my daughter and three grandchildren in California. My passion lies in educating, mentoring, and fostering connections that empower individuals and businesses to thrive. If you’re looking for guidance in history, business development, or wellness, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together to create meaningful impact.

Vietnam War Veteran

Mike Martin is a Vietnam War veteran whose journey began in 1965 when he was drafted but received a deferment to complete his college degree. Upon graduation, he entered Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps. After completing six months of specialized training, he received orders to Vietnam, arriving in Danang in 1969, where he served for a year. Following his tour, he was transferred back to the U.S., first to a Marine Corps base for nine months, then to his hometown of Tucson, AZ, at an Air Force base, where he served for 18 months before being honorably discharged in 1972. His military service shaped his leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence—values that continue to guide him today.
